A little history

Once upon a time there was a Belgian story...

Louvain-la-Neuve (LLN) (Walloon: Noû Lovin; German: Neu-Löwen3) is a section of the Belgian municipality of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, located in the Walloon Region in the province of Walloon Brabant.

This new town was built in the early 1970s following the "Louvain affair" and the split of the Catholic University of Louvain between its Dutch-speaking part, which remained in Leuven, and its French-speaking part, which left the Flemish Region to settle a few tens of kilometers further south, in the Walloon Region. Louvain-la-Neuve is the seat of the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), which is now distinct from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven). (adapted from Source: Wikipedia)
